Shorehaven Productions is a subsidiary outreach program of Broken Barrier Entertainment.

Mission

Shorehaven Productions strives to foster the personal evolution of children, adolescents, and young adults who aspire to achieve a sense of accomplishment in their educational, work, and individual goals.  It is through the art of music and entertainment that this safe haven shall operate in order to improve their overall quality of life, while providing the fundamental skills it will take to realize a dream of working in the entertainment industry. 

Profile

Shorehaven is designed to teach the fundamentals of music creation using teamwork, self-expression and creative channeling. As of now, the facility itself consists of 1 studio divided into a recording area and a production area.  We would like to eventually grow into a bigger area where we can section the facility into "music labs,"  where the members of the program can learn the technical aspects of music production using equipment such as sound boards, computers, synthesizers, as well as musical instruments. 

The labs will be sectioned into the following areas:

•   music creation

•   lyricist lounge

•   technical support

•   production zone

•   recording in session

•   the finished product

•   marketing 101

Shorehaven will work with teens in the Hampton Roads community who demonstrate an interest and need for music education.

Purpose

Shorehaven exists to provide a facility for children and young adults ranging from age 12 to 21 who want to excel in the arts.  The facility will function as an outreach program specializing in music and entertainment that instructs its students on how to develop music through song, instrumentals, and music production.

These avenues will be realized through five major components:

• It will serve as a safe haven for children, to either attend after school, during the summer, or on weekends in order to improve their individual quality of life, aspirations fro future endeavors, and to ensure that they are in a positive, structured music and entertainment environment.

• Shorehaven Productions will also provide a GED program for high school dropouts that offers general studies courses as well as courses with and emphasis in music, theatre, and the arts.  It will also be an alternative program for students who are interested in developing technical skills through a trade program.

• There will also be a dropout prevention program for children and adolescents who exhibit at risk indicators.  This program is designed to intercept students who lack the motivation for regular school studies, so that they can achieve an education in order to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

• One of the main functions for the business will be a record label which will promote music that is composed of positive lyrics, as well serve as a technical internship for students who desire to work in the field of entertainment.

• Lastly, we hope to achieve a high level of community outreach in order to build relationships with other businesses locally to help the children of Virginia Beach, and eventually Hampton Roads.
